1 c. butter (no substitutes) 1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Add dry ingredients and stir. Chill dough in refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight. Roll out dough on lightly floured board 1/4 inch thick for soft cookies, 1/8 inch thick for crisp cookie and cut out cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes on non-stick cookie sheet. WATCH CLOSELY, they only get a tinge of brown on edge. Frost with confectioners' frosting. |
