NANA'S SAUCE FOR PASTA 
2 lg. cans whole tomatoes
2 cans tomato paste
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black and red pepper
2 tbsp. olive oil
Salt pork
Pepperoni

Puree tomatoes with juice in blender or food processor with the seasonings. Pour into a large saucepan and add oil and tomato paste. Dice the salt pork and add to the sauce; cut up pepperoni and add to sauce also. Cook on medium heat for 1 hour, then reduce heat and simmer 4 hours, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. Meatballs may be added during last hour of cooking. Makes 1 quart.
