HAMBURGER IN A PEA PATCH 
Brown 1 pound hamburger in frying pan. Add 1 1/2 cups water and 1 package of onion gravy mix. Stir in 1/3 cup uncooked rice; add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Simmer about 15 minutes (watch that mixture doesn't get too dry during this time). When rice is cooked, add 1 small can of water chestnuts (sliced), 1 package of peas (and carrots, if desired). Heat through. Just before serving, stir in 1 can of French fried onion rings.
