MILE HIGH BISCUITS (FROZEN) | |
3 c. flour 1/4 c. sugar 3/4 tsp. salt 1 egg, beaten 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. shortening 1 1/2 c. milk Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add eggs and milk all at once; mix until dough forms a ball. Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface and knead 10 to 12 times. Roll out to 3/4" thickness, cut with floured 2 1/2" biscuit cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and freeze. Place frozen biscuits in plastic bag in freeze. Bake frozen biscuits on greased baking sheet at 475 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. |
