1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. Quick oatmeal
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
2 egg yolks

Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let set while you:

Cream together Crisco, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup white sugar and 2 eggs. Blend in oatmeal and water mixture.

Sift dry ingredients and add to oatmeal mixture. Pour into greased and floured long cake pan. Bake 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Combine topping ingredients in small saucepan and stir constantly until butter melts. Spread over warm cake. Broil, watching constantly. Remove from broiler when topping just starts to bubble.
