OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. coconut
1 c. raisins
1 c. walnuts
1 c. oats
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. flour
1/2 c. hot water
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour, salt, spices together. Mix cocoa and soda in hot water. Let cool. Mix sugar and shortening. Add flour with milk. Pour into 2 greased pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

VANILLA FUDGE FROSTING:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. canned cream
1 tbsp. white Karo
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

In saucepan put all ingredients. Cook to soft ball. Let cool. Spread over cake.
