CHOCOLATE BUTTERMILK CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. water
3/4 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 oz. melted unsweetened chocolate

Measure all ingredients into large mixer bowl. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping bowl constantly. Beat 3 minutes on high speed. Bake oblong 40-45 minutes, layers 30-35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Bake at 350 degrees - glass pan at 325 degrees.

FROSTING:

1 box powdered sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cube butter

Beat with electric mixer until creamy and light. Do Not Add Water.
