3/4 c. shortening, melted
1 c. white sugar
1/4 c. Brer Rabbit molasses
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix ingredients in order and chill. Roll into 1-inch balls. Roll in white sugar. On a greased cookie sheet, bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
