3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients together well. Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Do not flatten. Makes nice round cookies. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
