I used 2 HEAPING tablespoons of Hershey's cocoa, 1 ea. of the Dark and the regular cocoa and reduced the sugar to 1/3 cup. Cooked in double boiler over boiling water. I have tried several chocolate pudding recipes, most with cornstarch and I have to say, this is the absolute best! Defiantly a keeper... Thanks Aunt Edna!

Grandma always said use 2 tbsp. cocoa and 2 tbsp. flour in 2 cups of milk with 1/2 cup of sugar for Pudding. For PIE increase cocoa and flour to 4 tbsp. each.

The way I read the recipe, 1 almost heaping tbsp. cocoa equaled 2 level tbsp. anyway! Very good! Very smooth. Can't tolerate milk, so used water; can't do the sugar, so used Splenda! Turned out great even with the substitutions. Great recipe!

Very good chocolate pudding. Used some of the other suggestions and add a pinch of salt and an extra tbsp of cocoa.

The recipe is a 5 star for flavor and simplicity, with the changes that other people suggested. It needs 2 heaping tablespoons of cocoa and 2 heaping tablespoons of flour. The "thickening" is only slight, it will thicken more as is cools. It is fantastic topped with whipped cream.

Thanks to Edna... this is a great inexpensive old fashioned pudding recipe that I was looking for. I've made some with cornstarch but I like both, flour & cornstarch. If you want it more of a fudge chocolate pudding start by melting a square of dark chocolate in a double boiler (semi-sweet)... mix the cocoa and milk and flour, etc., cold and add to the melted chocolate. This is much easier and inexpensive than the egg pudding recipe. Very good! Thanks again. (Oh, I always add salt to all dessert recipes. Just a pinch)

I was told that the raw cacao powder should be mixed with the liquid slowly to create a paste, then increasing the liquid to dilute the paste, otherwise the cacao does not dissolve well.
After all ingredients are dissolved, then the mixture is heated. Bring to a boil, and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Remove from heat, and stir in margarine and vanilla.

I also added a little more cocoa and cut down to 1/2 cup sugar. I added 2 heaping Tablespoons of peanut butter and added crushed Oreo's... so yummy.

Love it!!! I did the microwave and stove top method and the taste was the same! However I put in 1/2 the sugar and doubled the cocoa. It is my new family favorite and quick in the microwave.

Great chocolate pudding! Like everyone else I added the extra tablespoon of cocoa and increased sugar to about 2/3 cup. I like the suggestions about using evaporated milk and substituting black coffee for part of the milk.

Awesome!!! Your aunt Edna knows about chocolate pudding! I'm a chocolate freak, so I put double the cocoa powder, but that's only because I'm craving extra chocolate today, was delicious w/o it. This one is going in my list of faves.
