“TOFFEE CANDY” IS IN:

TOFFEE CANDY 
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, divided

Combine sugar, salt, water and butter; cook to a light crack stage (285°F on candy thermometer).

Add 1/2 cup walnuts. Pour mixture onto a greased cookie sheet; cool.

Melt chocolate. Spread half over top of first mixture. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup walnuts; cool.

Turn candy over. Spread with remaining chocolate; sprinkle with remaining nuts.

Cooks Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended.

Makes 2 dozen candies.
