PORTUGUESE KALE SOUP 
2 tsp. crushed red pepper
2 tsp. salt
1 lb. linguica
1 med. onion
2 bunches or 4 boxes frozen kale
6 potatoes, diced
1 head cabbage, shredded
3 cans kidney beans, drained

Place linguica in a pot. If you have a shank bone or some beef you may add that. Add red pepper, onion and salt. Cover with water. Bring to a boil, simmer 30 minutes. Add kale, cabbage and beans. Cook 15 minutes then add potatoes. Cook 30 minutes more. Season to taste. Serves 6.
