1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. boiling water
1/4 c. baking molasses
1/4 c. table syrup
1 egg

Dissolve soda in water and add other ingredients.

CRUMBS:

1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 rounded tbsp. shortening

Put liquid in bottom of pie crust and sprinkle crumb mixture on top. Bake at 325 degrees.
