GOOEY SHOO - FLY PIE 
CRUMBS:

2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening or lard
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

LIQUID:

1 c. & 1 tbsp. molasses (King syrup)
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs

For Crumbs: Mix all ingredients together as you would for pie dough.

For Liquid: Combine molasses, brown sugar and soda in a bowl. Pour boiling water over sugar mixture. Add eggs and a handful of crumbs.

Pour into 2 pie crusts and top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes then at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Pie is good and gooey; however, I like a stronger molasses flavor so I think next time I would not use King Syrup. Next time I will use Brer Rabbit Molasses not sure if full flavor or mild - maybe half of each.
