FRENCH ONION CASSEROLE 
2 lg. sweet onions, peeled and sliced 1/4 inch thick
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 lb. grated Swiss cheese
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. soy sauce
8 slices French bread, 1/4 inch thick, buttered

Saute onion in butter until tender; spoon into 11 x 7 inch glass dish. Spread cheese over onions. Heat soup, milk and soy sauce together until well blended; pour over onions and cheese. Mix gently with fork. Place buttered bread slices on top, overlapping if necessary. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Yield 6 to 8 servings.
