APPLE CRISP 
1 c. wheat flour
1 c. oats
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. honey
8 apples, cored & sliced
2 tsp. cinnamon

Combine flour, oats, salt and soda. Cut shortening and honey into dry goods with pastry cutter or strong fork until mixture is crumbly. Turn oven onto 350 degrees.

Place apples in bottom of greased 9 x 9 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover with oats mixture loosely. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until done. It's done when apples are soft, juicy.
