1 c. soft shortening
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 c. creamy peanut butter
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. oatmeal

Beat shortening and sugar together until creamy. Add eggs and peanut butter; beat well. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture; mix well. Stir in oatmeal.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press with fork (if dough sticks to fork, dip fork occasionally in flour). Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 2 dozen.
