CHERRY PRETZEL DESSERT 
1 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. coarsely crushed pretzels
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling or kind you prefer
2 (1 1/2 oz.) pkgs. each whipped topping mix or Cool Whip

Melt butter in pan. Add sugar and vanilla and blend. Add pretzels and stir lightly. Reserve 3/4 cup of mixture for topping. Press remainder into ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan. Blend cream cheese and powdered sugar together. Make topping according to directions; fold into cheese mixtures. Spread half of mixture over crust. Carefully spread pie filling over that, then spread remaining cheese mixture over the cherries. Top with reserved pretzel mixture.
