2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or shortening
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. mashed bananas
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 unbeaten eggs

Preheat oven at 375 degrees. Sift together first 5 ingredients then add remaining ingredients. Pour into 2 greased pans. Bake until done. Cool. Top with whipped cream. Stack with sliced bananas between layers. Chopped nuts and grated cherries may also be sprinkled on top.
