BLUE COUNTESS GARLIC SALAD 
6 hard boiled eggs, peeled
1 potato, boiled
12 oz. mild Cheddar cheese
1/2 head of garlic (about 6 cloves)
Mayonnaise, salt and pepper

Grate all the ingredients, chop garlic very finely. Mix together with mayonnaise. Season with salt and pepper.

This recipe was given me by Alla Kan. Alla came with her husband to Sitka while he was doing his field work for his dissertation on the influence of the Russian Orthodox church on Tlingit religion. They were Russian Emigrees. I called Alla "the Blue Countess" after the supposed ghost from Baranof's castle in Sitka. Alla was a beautiful lady!
