CHINESE SPARE RIBS
2 scallions, cut in 1 inch pieces
2 cloves garlic, mashed
2 tsp. ketchup
2 tsp. chili sauce
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. corn syrup
2 tsp. cooking sherry
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. honey
1 lb. spare ribs

Boil spareribs in a large pot for 45 minutes. While ribs are parboiling, mix remaining ingredients in a large pan (marinade). Put boiled ribs into marinade and let marinate for 2 hours, turning after 1 hour. Broil ribs on grill or in oven, coating each side with honey. Watch ribs - as they begin to crisp, turn and baste again. When marinade begins to brown, the ribs are done.

NOTE: If you do not want to parboil ribs first, bake them at 250 degrees for 40 minutes, 350 degrees for 20 minutes, and 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Serve with rice.
