ICE - BOX COOKIES 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs, beaten
5 c. flour
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla

Mix sugar and shortening (cream until fluffy). Add eggs and blend well. Add dry ingredients and blend. Stir in nuts. Shape into about 3 square, rectangular or round logs and refrigerate overnight (I wrap each log in wax or saran wrap). Slice thin and bake at 325 degrees for about 10 to 12 minutes.
