MARINATED LONDON BROIL 
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 chopped med. sized onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. allspice
1 c. beef broth
1/3 c. soy sauce
3 tbsp. red wine vinegar
2 lbs. boneless beef, visible fat removed

Heat oil, add onion and saute until soft. Add all remaining ingredients except meat and bring to a simmer. Remove marinade from heat and cool. Place beef in ceramic dish and cover with marinade. Refrigerate for approximately 24 hours, turning beef occasionally. Transfer beef to platter and bring to room temperature. Discard marinade or use to make gravy. Broil 3 or 4 inches from heat for approximately 10 minutes on each side. Let beef cool for 5 minutes and then slice at an angle, 1/4" thick.
