1 c. shortening (can be 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening)
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
5 1/3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. each soda, salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. sour cream

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Blend dry ingredients; add to sugar mixture alternately with sour cream.

Roll out to 1/4 to 1/2-inch thickness on well-floured board. Cut with cookie cutters. Place on cookie sheet (greased). Sprinkle with sugar. Bake 5-7 minutes.
