CABBAGE CASSEROLE | |
1 med. cabbage 1/4 c. butter 1/4 c. plain flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 2 c. evaporated milk 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1/4 chopped red pepper 1/4 c. chopped onions 2/3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese 1/2 c. mayonnaise 3 tbsp. chili sauce Cut cabbage in 2 wedges. Cook until tender; drain. Place wedges in 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Set aside; melt butter in saucepan. Stir in flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper. Gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Pour over cabbage wedges and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients, mixing well. Spoon over cabbage. Return to oven and bake 20 minutes. 8 servings. |
