MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
3/4 c. molasses
3/4 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. raisins or 1 c. chopped nuts or both (optional)

Cream together first 4 ingredients. Add sifted dry ingredients and milk with vinegar alternately. Mix well. Add raisins or nuts and mix well. Drop by spoons onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
