BAKLAVA 
1 lb. filo dough, thawed
1 lb. sweet butter, melted
1 lb. chopped walnuts
5 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. brandy (optional)

Butter an oblong pan. Spread 1 layer of filo and brush with butter. Mix finely chopped nuts with sugar, cinnamon and brandy. Repeat layers of mixed nuts and filo until all filo and nuts are used up, ending with filo. With sharp knife, cut diagonally into diamond-shape pieces. Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool.

Make a syrup of 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 cup honey. 1 teaspoon lemon juice and 1 cinnamon stick. Boil 15 minutes. Pour over cool Baklava, let stand until all syrup has been absorbed. Serve.
