CHOCOLATE DIPPED BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Finely chopped nuts, coconut, jimmies, etc.

Cream butter. Gradually add sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla. Gradually add flour; mix well.

Shape dough into logs 2 1/2" x 1/2". Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten 3/4 of cookie with fork to 1/4" thick. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes until set and edges are lightly golden. Cool on rack. Melt chocolate chips. Dip unflattened end of cookie in chocolate and roll in nuts, etc. Let harden on racks. Yield: 5 dozen.
