ITALIAN CHOCOLATE COOKIES 
7 c. flour
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. cocoa
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. Crisco
5 tbsp. baking powder
1 c. nuts
3/4 c. raisins
2 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 eggs

Cream sugar, cocoa, vanilla, Crisco, and eggs. Add milk to mixture and blend. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Blend into sugar mixture. Add nuts and raisins. Drop by tablespoons. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Ice with confectioners' sugar icing when cool. Makes approximately 8 dozen.
