PEANUT BUTTER CUPCAKES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
2 eggs
2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and 1 cup of brown sugar together; add peanut butter. Mix well. Add eggs beaten with remaining 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together and add alternately with milk and vanilla. Fill greased cupcake pans half full. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 25 minutes. This recipe makes 24 cupcakes.
