BAR-B-Q RIBS 
1/2 c. tomato paste, thin with water
1/2 tsp. sweet basil
1 tbsp. catsup
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. liquid smoke

Cook together until well blended and cool. Rub roaster with minced garlic (1 clove). When sauce is cooled, pour over ribs and let stand 3- 4 hours before cooking.

This recipe adapts well to an electric frying pan, but the sauce cooks down, so you have to keep checking on it. Otherwise the sauce will burn. Add a little more water, as needed, to cook with until the ribs are tender. You may also use a package of country ribs instead of spare ribs.
