3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt

1 can coconut
2 c. chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
1 pkg. dates, pitted
1 lb. orange slice candy, chopped

1 c. butter creamed well with 2 c. sugar
4 eggs, add 1 at a time and beat well

1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk

Add milk and flour alternately to butter mixture; mix well. Add coconut mixture and mix last. Bake in tube pan on 300 degrees for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
