ORANGE SLICE CAKE 
1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. flour
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda (dissolved in the buttermilk)
2 tsp. grated orange rind
1 pkg. (6 to 8 oz.) dates, chopped
1 c. coconut
2 c. pecans
2 c. orange slice candy, cut up

Mix all the above and bake for 2 hours at 250 degrees. I use a bundt pan sprayed with Pam.
