3 1/4 c. flour, self rising
1 lb. orange slice candy, diced
1 pkg. dates, diced
2 c. pecans, chopped
1 can coconut
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar (cream with shortening)
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda in 1/2 c. buttermilk

Mix together first 5 ingredients. Then mix rest of ingredients separately. Mix well and fold in above mixture, pour in well greased tube pan. Bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes at 300 degrees. When done and while still hot, poke holes in cake with fork and pour topping over the top.

TOPPING:

1 c. orange juice
2 c. confectioners sugar
