ANGEL - JELLO CAKE 
1 box angel food cake mix
1 pt. frozen or fresh strawberries
2 (3 oz.) boxes strawberry Jello

ICING:

2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. milk

Prepare angel food cake according to directions on box.

While cake is baking make Jello according to package directions. When Jello is firm but not solid, add drained strawberries. Set aside.

When cake is cool, cut about 1 inch layer from top of cake. Make a ditch in the large part of the cake. Break up these pieces and place in the Jello mixture you have already set aside. Be careful not to go too close to the edge when making the ditch. Pour the Jello and cake mixture back into the ditch of the cake, and place the top portion of the cake bacon on.

Ice with butter icing above. Keep refrigerated to keep Jello solid.

This is the cake that was made for me every birthday as a child. I loved it and I'm thankful to find this recipe after many years. It sounds exactly the same, except instead of the butter cream frosting, my cake merely had whipped cream icing and it was yummy all the same. Thanks for making this recipe available.
