SHOO FLY CAKE | |
4 c. flour 2 c. sugar 1 c. butter 1 tsp. salt 1 full cup Brer Rabbit (Gold Label) baking molasses 2 c. warm water 1 tsp. baking soda moistened in a little water Mix in mixing bowl with mixer flour, sugar, butter and salt to make crumbs. Take out 1 1/2 cups of crumbs for top of cake and set aside. To the rest of the crumbs add the molasses, warm water, baking soda. Mix together and pour into a greased oblong pan; 9 x 13 inch. Top with remaining crumbs; bake 1 hour in a 350 degree oven. |
