CHARLOTTE'S OATMEAL RAISIN
COOKIES
 
2 1/2 sticks butter
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisins
3 c. old fashioned oats, uncooked

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat sugars and butter until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, soda, and spices; add to sugar/egg mixture; mix well. Stir in oats and raisins. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-9 minutes. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; then remove to wire rack. Store covered tightly. Yields 4-5 dozen.
