SPICED APRICOT BREAD 
1 1/2 c. dried apricots, diced
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. butter, melted
1 c. water
1 egg, well beaten
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. nuts, chopped

Combine apricots, sugar, spices, butter and water. Cook 5 minutes and cool completely. Add the beaten egg, then flour that has been sifted with soda. Stir in nuts and pour into a greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for an hour or until tests done.
