ORIENTAL CASSEROLE 
3 lbs. ground chuck
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onion
3/4 c. green peppers
3 c. water
1/3 c. cornstarch
1 tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. ground ginger
3/4 c. soy sauce
1/3 c. water
2 (7 oz.) cans bamboo sprouts
2 (6 oz.) pkgs. frozen pea pods, thawed
2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen English peas
3 (3 oz.) cans chow mein noodles

In large Dutch oven cook beef, celery, onions and green peppers until much is brown. Add 3 cups water, bring to boil. Combine cornstarch, sugar, ginger. Blend in soy sauce and 1/3 cup water. Add to beef mixture. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Stir in sprouts and pea pods, break up and add peas. Cook a little longer. Serve on rice with soy sauce. Add chow mein noodles. Serves 15.
