FRENCH SILK PIE | |
1/2 pkg. pie crust 1 sq. unsweetened chocolate, grated 1/4 c. light brown sugar, packed 3/4 c. chopped walnuts 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tbsp. water, blended together FILLING: 3 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted 1 1/2 sticks butter, softened 1 c. light brown sugar 4 eggs TOPPING: 1 pt. heavy cream, whipped Crust: 1. Stir dry ingredients together with fork. Drizzle liquid over mix which will be lumpy and crumbly. Stir briefly and pat in place in 9 inch pie plate. 2. Bake 12-15 minutes in 375 degree oven. Cool completely. Filling: 1. Cream butter. Add sugar and vanilla; beat for a few minutes. 2. Add chocolate to mixture. 3. Beat in eggs, one at a time and beat for 5 minutes each (total beating time 20 minutes). 4. Pour in pie crust. 5. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Cover with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings, just prior to serving. |
