FRENCH SILK PIE 
6 oz. pkg. semi sweet chocolate pieces
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sifted confectioner's sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs
Baked deep dish pie shell
Cool Whip
Toasted Slivered Almonds and/or maraschino cherries

Melt and cool chocolate, stirring often. Cream butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar, vanilla and salt and beat with electric mixer at high speed for about 10 minutes, or until very light and fluffy. Add eggs, ONE at a time, beat about 3 minutes after each egg. Carefully and quickly fold in cooled chocolate. Pour into pie shell at once. Chill at least 6 hours or overnight. Garnish with whipped cream and almonds or maraschino cherries.
