PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH SAND TARTS | |
1 lb. sugar (2 c.) 3 eggs 1/2 lb. melted butter 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. thick milk (or use canned milk with vinegar) Flour to make stiff 1 egg Mix sugar and 3 beaten eggs. Add butter. Dissolve baking soda in thick milk. Add flour to make stiff dough. Chill overnight. Roll thin or thick. Beat egg and brush over cookie before baking. Optional: Sprinkle with colored sugar and chopped nuts. Bake at 350 degrees until golden. |
