PIZZA BY--THE--YARD | |
1 loaf French bread 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 c. finely chopped green onions 1/4 c. chopped pitted ripe olives 1/2 tsp. dried oregano 3/4 tsp. salt 1 lb. ground beef 2 tomatoes, sliced 1 green pepper, cut in rings 1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese Cut loaf in half lengthwise. Combine tomato paste, Parmesan cheese, onion and olives. Add oregano, salt, pepper, and meat; mix well. Spread atop loaf halves. Place on baking sheet. Bake in 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. Remove from oven, top with tomato slices and green pepper rings. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Bake for 5 minutes more. Serves 4 or 5. |
