CRANBERRY ORANGE BREAD 
2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
Grated rind of 1 orange
Juice of 1 orange, plus enough water to make 3/4 c.
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. raw cranberries, washed, drained and cut in half

Grease standard loaf pan. Sift dry ingredients together. Set aside. Add shortening, orange rind, juice, and egg all at once, mixing thoroughly. Fold in cranberries. Pour into loaf pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on wire rack in pan.
