CRANBERRY CAKE 
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. cut up dates
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. grated orange rind
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. salad oil
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. cranberries, cut in fourths
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. each of soda, salt, and baking powder

Beat sugar, oil, and eggs well. Add buttermilk and flavoring. Mix all other ingredients together and add liquid. Bake in tube pan or 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 degrees about 1 hour for tube pan, about 45 minutes for sheet cake.

GLAZE:

3/4 c. orange juice
1 c. sugar

Have ready and pour over cake while hot.
