CREAM OF TOMATO SOUP 
1 qt. fresh tomatoes
1 pt. milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. flour
Salt and pepper to taste

Put tomatoes in saucepan and cook over medium heat until boiling.

In separate 3 quart saucepan, melt butter and add flour and stir into a smooth paste. Add milk while stirring to make sauce.

Add soda to tomatoes and stir until dissolved. Run tomatoes through a sieve or colander and stir into the white sauce. Heat and serve.
