1 c. flour, sifted 5 times
1 c. sugar, sifted 5 times
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar when eggs foam
5 egg yolks, well beaten
7 egg whites, well beaten (pinch of salt)
2 tsp. vanilla

Beat eggs until stiff, not dry. Beat in yolks, fold in other ingredients. Bake in slow oven for 40 minutes.
