1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 6 c. plain flour 2/3 tbsp. salt 1 1/3 oz. yeast 2 c. warm water 1 egg 1/2 c. dry milk Glaze: 4 c. powdered sugar 1/3 c. water 1 tbsp. vanilla Cream butter and sugar. Sift flour and salt. Put yeast and butter mixture in mixing bowl. Add water and egg. Mix dry milk and flour. Add to first mixture. Mix well. Turn dough out into lightly greased bowl and let rise in warm place until double in bulk. Punch down and roll out 1/2-inch thick; cut with doughnut cutter. Let rise until double in size. Fry in deep fat. Drain on paper. Dip in glaze. Glaze: Combine ingredients. |
