MEATBALLS FOR LASAGNE 
3 lbs. Italian sausage (turkey) or hamburger
1 c. bread crumbs
2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/3 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Shortening for browning

Combine all ingredients, shape into large meatballs. Brown in shortening, constantly turning from side to side to brown evenly. When browned (you may add to spaghetti sauce and simmer until done), cover, add just enough water to keep from sticking until done. Then cool and slice to use in layers for lasagne.
