DOMENICA'S CIAMBELLONE 
1 c. Crisco
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 c. milk
2 - 3 c. flour
1/2 c. white wine
1 tsp. anise seed
rind from 1 lemon
3 tsp. baking powder

Mix sugar, Crisco; add eggs and beat well. Add anise, lemon rind, milk, baking powder and flour. Last, add wine to batter and beat well. Pour batter into tube pan. If desired; sprinkle batter with sugar or confetti.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
